New Leader for 15th EMTF
11/14/2008 - The 15th Expeditionary Mobility Task Force welcomed its newest commander, Brig. Gen. Barbara Faulkenberry in a change-of-command ceremony here, Nov. 13.

Maj. Gen. Winfield Scott III, 18th Air Force commander, officiated the ceremony and formally transferred command of the task force from Brig. Gen. Mark Stearns to General Faulkenberry. General Scott reminded General Stearns how much he has accomplished during his command.

New Housing Construction Begins at Travis
11/14/2008 - Crews pour the first concrete for the construction of new Company Grade Officer homes in Norton Heights here. Thirteen concrete trucks provided the concrete Nov. 12. The project is part of the housing privatization plan that will provide new homes for Team Travis members.

The ‘Spirit of Travis’ Has Landed
11/06/2008 - With the family of Brig. Gen. Robert F. Travis looking on, Gen. Arthur J. Lichte, Air Mobility Command commander and Chief Master Sgt. Joseph Barron, AMC command chief, delivered the 13th and final C-17 Globemaster III, "the Spirit of Travis" here, Nov. 5.

"The delivery of our newest Globemaster, aptly named the 'Spirit of Travis' is historic as it marks the completion of our first C-17 squadron," said Col. Mark Dillon, 60th Air Mobility Wing commander. "The name 'Spirit of Travis' honors the best of our Air Force's past, present and future."

General Travis' children, Robert F. Travis, Jr., Roger G. Travis and Jayne Travis-Drought joined twelve other Travis family members to celebrate this historic event.
